Rant! How on earth do the postmen expect us to support them!?

How on earth do the postmen expect us to support them!?!

Today is Saturday, i was in all day, haven't left the house even for a moment. Yet, i still get a 'sorry, you were out' card through the door. I presume they can't even be bothered to bring the packages out with them any more!!!

I work full time, so can't have a redelivery in the week, can't send it somewhere else because i work miles away.....

I hope the Royal Mail goes bust, all the lazy so and sos find themselves out of work and have to join the rest of us in the real world and have to do an honest days work for an honest days pay!

Loads of people work unsociable hours (doctors %26amp; nurses for one) and unfortunately for businesses to survive in the modern age, they have to modernise.

I supported them last time but not this time, they should stope their whinging and get on with it, like the rest of us that work for a living!!!

By all means disagree with me if you wish, please don't be offensive or rude!Rant! How on earth do the postmen expect us to support them!?
I agree with you. It is getting more and more common for postmen not to actually bring the parcels with them on their rounds and just put a card through the door. I think what riles us most about that is the underhandedness of it. To actually say 'sorry you were out' on the card is insulting. Why not just be honest and say 'we have a parcel for you at the depot'. At least it wouldn't be lying.

And before any postmen say this doesn't happen - yes it does. My next door neighbour saw a card come through the letterbox and opened the door expecting to get the parcel. The postman looked very red and said he didn't actually have it with him.

Charming!!!

There are plenty of people who have lost their jobs in this recession who would be more than happy to replace these selfish and lazy people.Rant! How on earth do the postmen expect us to support them!?
get a private mail box at Mail Boxes Etc or the UPS Store and you'll never miss a package. they sign for everything for you and most of the stores have 24/7/365 access so you can get your mail.pkgs anytime
I still believe in Royal Mail because I live in a rural area and without them I would receive nothing. Everytime a courier company has tried to deliver things to me they get left in -----

1. Coal bunker in the outhouse of a derelict cottage.

2. A house with a similar name to mine but in a different village

3. An empty farm that gets rented out to workers coming to stay in the area for jobs.

etc, etc.

This has never happened with Royal Mail because they get a signature for any parcel they deliver - courier company's cant be bothered as its too much trouble.
I agree with you. When a postman deliver a parcel to my door, they rang the door bell, knocked on the door, then wait a few second; if no answer, he just left the pick up notice.

When a UPS, Fedex delivered the parcel to my door, they rang the door bell and knocked on the door few times; if no answer, they walked to the backdoor to see if someone lived in the basement. They always try to deliver the parcel to their customer if possible. When they realized that I usually home after 5 PM, they always come after 5.

I lived in the same address for more than 15 years and I have been receiving other people's mail thousands of times!

Postal employees are lazy, irresponsible and that is why most parcels are delivered by courier rather than by the post office.
