The first quad theatre in Newark,
Was The Branford.
Yet I dreamed of El Segundo
More than Fred Sanford.
I never put faith in luck,
But back then I could see movies all day,
For only a buck.
Afterwards we went to Burger King.
I'd get a Whopper, no pickles, coke,
And onion rings.
How I loved the tomato and lettuce,
And how they always said,
';Special orders don't upset us';.
Back then, the man was Bruce Lee.
I can't tell you how much he inspired me.
More than anyone except Christ!
I believe in God,
Yet my tiger's claw is also nice.
I guess this wasn't really a rant.
Just a walk through the memories
That used to seem so distant.A ranting poem for the sake of ranting a rant?
very nice poem..the sounds are brilliant and with a touching end.
';Just a walk through the memories,
That used to seem so distant';
The air of nostalgia is always so haunting.A ranting poem for the sake of ranting a rant?
Rant on my friend, memories never end.
Tucked away to return to them when we can
Some not so pleasant,from which we ran
But some so wonderful, so full of light.
Our lamp to carry into the night.
Reminiscencing can be a wonderful thing
For we old folks, it makes our glad hearts sing.
Hurrah for memories...and spotting Silver Bells!
Two delightful 'starts' for my Wednesday!
Mickey Mantle and Superman. Ray Nitsche too. A nice rant, enjoyable to read. Memories become parts of who we are.
Very enjoyable rant, boy that burger sure sounds good right now lol! I love your poetry because you always make what you are saying clear but in a poetic way=).
BRUCE LEE ROCKS!!!
But Christ is better!!!=)
Very sweet memories. Not a rant at all.
Ohhhh, what a nice, soothing walk in memories! Ain't no rant....just a 'I wanna go back for just one day!';
Good one!
